i watch, as
acid tides slap
the fragments of what's left -
rocky shore, battered from the waters
trickling down the crevices
eating away at the soft dank moss
that had sat there so long,
only to get riper and riper
screaming of the sea
i am drowning!
i am drowning,
these gripping hands
at my neck
--cold and neglected,
want me to die
and there is no light
none to be
saved by the break
by the shatter and ease
into day
temporary sun kissed rocks
and our lungs are clean
with pure waters
preserved and maintained again.
